- Can I take out a policy if I have no social security cover?
- Yes. Because the TRNC has no SGK pre-authorisation system as in Türkiye, private health insurance operates independently; your social security status is only taken into account in the risk assessment.
- Is it valid at hospitals in Türkiye?
- The wide-network package includes partner institutions in Türkiye. Standard and economy packages are limited to the TRNC; referrals off the island are subject to the policy terms.
- Is there a waiting period?
- Generally a waiting period of up to 12 months from the policy start applies to childbirth and certain operations. Emergencies are exempt from the waiting period.
- Are my pre-existing conditions covered?
- Conditions existing before the policy started are generally excluded. Based on your declaration the insurer may apply an additional premium or an exclusion.
